a world without linkedIn

mostly it started as a joke, but I think it goes deeper than that. it’s not just about this network, it’s about the privacy of oneself

I don’t like having a linkedin, still, I do have one. why? because it still needs to be a validated presence or social indicator for the normal society nowadays.

  • are you on a job hunt? need a linkedin
  • do people wanna stalk you? need a linkedin
  • linkedin is a mandatory form input in most of the gated-forms for at least stepping in on someone’s calendar :)

it’s really hard to not have a linkedin. still, I don’t like the narrative where I need to lay out my full story down there, not that I want to go full unabomber.

why is exposure the default? why does privacy need a justification while oversharing is not?

why is not choosing to have that there “wrong”? is it really?

and this is just a mere work-perspective kind of thing.

one of my deepest wishes? not having a linkedin. I’m working for that, I’m working towards that future — and not just in the literal sense, mostly as a philosophy, a mindset.
